Avionics Technician

Principal Responsibilities:
  • Removes avionics equipment, cockpit/cabin seats, interior and floorboards to gain access and performs functional and operational checks on aircraft avionics systems.
  • Measures, calculates and determines wire lengths and requirements; verify and reconcile with engineering drawings.
  • Interprets prints and schematics of avionics systems to modify or troubleshoot electronic systems.
  • Tests and troubleshoots aircraft electronic equipment.
  • Repairs, modifies, installs aircraft equipment and systems in conformance with FAA, company, customer, and other regulatory specifications.
  • Conducts flight check of avionics equipment when required.
  • Perform light sheet metal layout and fabrication.
  • Complies with all safety, environmental and general housekeeping policies.
  • Completes all required repair station paperwork to approve aircraft for return to service.
  • Documents all work accomplished in a clear, concise and accurate manner.
  • May perform other duties as required by the Avionics Manager.

Basic Requirements:
  • High school diploma required.
  • Associate Degree in an electronics related field or equivalent experience required.
  • FCC license required.
  • 3 years General Aviation and/or Corporate Aviation experience.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Sheet metal experience is a plus
